This past Sunday at the garden on 4th street, we had our monthly work day for February. Sun and laughter are the best descriptors if one were to encapsulate the experience with a few words! The main focus of the day aimed to do upkeep work on the community plots and pick up trash blown in from the city. Who knew picking up trash and weeding could be so much fun? When you have the great company of the community at the garden, I guess it shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. We accomplished an abundance of needed work including: maintaining the community lots, removing all the trash, sifting our compost into our new bins, and upcycling a broken wheelbarrow. The whole NOMADgardens’ staff would like to give a huge thanks to all of the Gardeners and Volunteers who came out on Sunday to help out! I would like to give a special thanks to Slow Foods as well, because of their efforts we had three extra volunteers and a possible new gardener!!
